A research database for architectural drawings - english version
Welcome to Lineamenta! Here you find information about the project and how to use it.
German version of this document.
Lineamenta is an on-line collection of architectural drawings from the Roman Baroque period. The database is currently under construction; when finished it will be fully accessible through the web. More information on Lineamenta is available in English, German, and Italian. The project is based on the ideas and the initiative of Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Kieven and is developed under her supervision by a team at the Bibliotheca Hertziana (Max Planck Institute for Art History, Rome).
Because of the early state of the project we ask you to excuse its limitations with regard to function and accessibilitiy: Currently there is only a German interface, and high resolution images are only available for part of the material. If you want to consult the complete database for scientific purposes, please send an e-mail to this address.
Please observe the Copyright! No part of the database (images or texts) may be copied, published or used in any way without explicit confirmation by the authors or owners of the originals.
Lineamenta is a founding member of the cooperation project ECHO (European Cultural Heritage Online) sponsored by the European Community.
An important additional resource and tool to Lineamenta is the online-database of historical maps of Rome: CIPRO
