Lineamenta is an online research database for architectural drawings. It is developed by the Bibliotheca Hertziana on top of the object-oriented Web Application Server ZOPE. Based on ZOPE’s content management features, an interactive, documenting platform for publishing and discussing research results is created. Lineamenta contains high-resolution scans of the original drawings, which are served to the client by an URL-driven graphic server with multiple viewing capabilities. In the future, the prototype of Lineamenta will be ported to an XML-based database framework named ZUCCARO and will be made available for similar projects as free Open Source Software.
